How to Easily Find a Job

Although the US unemployment rate as of November 2012 was reported to have fallen to 7.7% in November, the number of unemployed individuals still remained high at 12 million. Thus, it is clear that finding a job can be very difficult. Fortunately, there are some job hunting strategies that can make it easier for you to find work. Here is a brief overview of some of them.

Make a list of the skills that you have and then match them with potential career options. When thinking about your skills, don t limit yourself to technical skills. For example, do you have the gift of being able to easily connect with people? That also counts as a skill. Are you resourceful and able to find solutions to problems? Write all of this down, and then consider what career or industry that your skill set is appropriate for and where you would be happy working.

Target organizations that you think you’d like to work for. Keep in mind that not all job vacancies are advertised online, and you may be able to avail of opportunities simply by visiting their websites and looking for openings that they may only post there. Or you can take the initiative and send them your CV directly since this would help you stand out among other job seekers.

Post your CV online. This is a great way to reach potential employers who may be conducting searches online for qualified personnel. Make sure that you use keywords to optimize your resume so that it would get high positions in search engine results pages and make it easier for them to find. And use a common format like Word or PDF so that employers can easily download and print it out for their reference.
