QC Careers

If you are the kind of person who loves to make sure that a job is done properly and that all the materials used are of the highest quality then a career in quality control may be for you.

Work as a QC will have you working closely with the production team in a factory or other work place setting and picking out at random various parts and materials at different stages of the manufacturing process to test for quality. If any of the parts or products are not up to the high standards needed by the company and customer then they will be rejected.

As part of this process the parts or products that do not make it past quality control will have to have investigations conducted to see if there is a way to improve on the situation. A major part of any QC job is to identify key areas where quality can be improved upon and implementing the changes.

After entry level into quality control you can progress onto a quality control supervisor or inspector, this means usually that you will have a team for whom you are responsible.

QA Jobs

A quality analyst is responsible for analysing and interpreting statistics concerned with the quality control of the products and materials in the work place. QA often have to work shift work if the work place is in production 24 hours a day to ensure that quality control is still maintained during night time hours.

You will need to be aware of all the quality assurance policies regarding the materials and products you are working with on a daily basis to maintain up to date legislation especially concerning electrical goods and children’s toys.

Identifying inconsistencies and finding the cause is also part of a quality analyst’s job. If the cause of a problem can be found then a remedy can be implemented.

Overall if you are thinking of a career change into a career that you can work your way up through the ranks and you love dealing with people and have patience then maybe quality
