The social network has more than 1,000 jobs, mostly for advertising sales; its commitment to virtual reality and the drones has increased hiring of the firm.
Facebook has 1,159 job openings listed on its corporate website, since the social network continues its aggressive growth plans.
According to regulatory filings of the company, the size of its workforce increased by 44% in the 12 months ended September 30, so the number of jobs in Facebook amounts to 8,348 today. Data on employment levels at year end are not yet available.

Many of the job vacancies published by the company are selling advertising. There are 126 job postings from this line in the list.
But Facebook’s foray into new areas is also driving growth. Its Oculus VR division provides 52 jobs, and in their effort to bring the Internet to different parts of the world through drones looking to hire aerospace mechanical technicians, engineers aircraft and flight test director.
The company also seeks to 43 recruiters and offer 28 jobs in human resources to better meet the avalanche of contracting it projects.
Facebook was not immediately available for comment on their hiring plans, scoop reported by Reuters.
“We are an ambitious company run by an ambitious CEO,” he said in an interview with Reuters Facebook’s COO Sheryl Sandberg. “Our users are growing and our business is growing and we want to bolster that.”
Facebook still has a relatively small staff compared to other technology companies. LinkedIn, another social networking company, has just over 5,000 employees despite having only one fifth of Facebook’s revenue.
